We had a great turn-out for our Open House on Sunday, September 29 in the County Kids Read book room. We are very grateful to our community for its ongoing interest in and enthusiastic support for our program. At this event we formally launched our new logo, designed by Kato Wake, and shown below in the photos on our 10th anniversary cake. Mayor Steve Ferguson and Councillors Phil St. Jean and Bill Roberts attended and made a surprise presentation of a certificate of appreciation to Anne Preston for County Kids Read’s work to improve child literacy in Prince Edward County. The door prize draw for the beautiful reading quilt from the Mary Pease quilt collection was made by former Principal of Queen Elizabeth School, Paul Pickard. The lucky winner of the quilt was Susan Steele. Congratulations, Susan!
